Wandering around the World
Bratislava was a bit of pit-stop for us. We spent 36 hours in the city, mainly catching up on sleep, washing, and eating some proper home made food. But we still made sure we explored the city, visited some of it’s main attractions and met some of the incredible locals.
One of the highlights of Bratislava was our visit to Bratislava Castle. Located directly in the centre of the city, overlooking the Danube River, the Castle was once home to royalty, Romans and Celts. From the top of the Castle, you can see clear views of Bratislava, Austria, and even Hungary on a clear day. The Museum of History can now be found in the Castle, and costs €10.
The Old Town Hall used to be the home of the Government, and is now home to the oldest museum in Slovakia. €5 will get you entrance into the tower, where you can climb the spiral staircase and see some incredible panoramic views of the Old Town.
Michael’s Gate is one of the only remaining fortified walls of the city. You can climb up to top of the wall for an incredible view of the Castle.
The UFO is located on the SNP Bridge and serves as an observation deck, giving views of the city, and up to 100km visibility on a clear day!
St Martin’s Cathedral is a 15th Century Gothic Church which used to serve as the Coronation Church, and is worth a visit if you have some spare time!
And of course, there are plenty of walking tours (some of which are free!), including a castle tour, a 20th century tour, and a spooky legends tour! Head over to Free Tours Bratislava for some more information on their array of incredible tours!

One of my favorite cities in Europe, but I might be a bit biased as we lived a year and a half in the city. 🙂
Nice to see that you found your way out exploring Bratislava. 🙂

A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would
