My *Tentative* 2021 Travel Plans

So as someone who loves travelling, the last few months have been tough. In August, I was supposed to be moving to Canada for a year to study abroad, and I also had a few exciting trips mapped out for June and July. But low and behold, Covid struck. And all those plans got cancelled.

All I’ve done in the past few weeks is attempt to plan some trips for next year. But the truth is, I don’t even know if travel will be an actual possibility next year. Yes we can travel now, but it’s not without its risks – and personally, I don’t feel comfortable travelling internationally at this time.

So there’s a whole big question mark over the possibility of travelling next year. But we can still hope, plan and dream, right?

Without further a do, here are my tentative travel plans for next year.

And before I go any further, I’m not saying I will go on these trips, they’re just possibilities – and I will 100% be waiting until we have more information and maybe even a vaccine until I head out on an international flight!

Multi-Country Africa – June or July 2021

Duration – 25 Days

Africa is a place I can’t wait to explore.

Gap 360 offer a trip through 5 African countries (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe), camping under the stars and discovering all the magic of the African desert. As well as visits to multiple national parks, I just feel like there’s so much to discover and explore in Africa!

Namibia is high on my list of countries to visit – so it would be great to include it on this trip!

You can check out this trip here.

Canada – August 2021

Duration – 1 month

As previously mentioned, I should have been living in Canada right now.

But instead I’ve been looking at images on Google and Instagram of all the incredible places to visit. I know a few Canadians who have given me some great recommendations of places to visit, so I’m hoping to visit a few spots in a month long trip around the country. I know for sure I’d love to head to Vancouver and explore British Columbia, so I reckon I’ll start my trip there and see how far I can get in a month!

Cuba – August 2021

Duration – 1-2 Weeks

Cuba has been on my list forever.

Something about it just really intrigues me, and I’d love to be able to visit the country and discover it for myself.

If I don’t head to Canada next summer, I reckon I’ll try to get to Cuba instead. Again, Gap 360 do a couple of trips around Cuba, so I reckon I’ll join one of their tours and spend some extra time in Havana too!

And there you have it – my tentative plans for next year’s adventures.

Whilst we’re still somewhat restricted on international travel for the rest of this year at least, I hope to explore some more of the UK and have a few local breaks! I’d love to head into the Midlands and East Anglia and explore some of England’s hidden gems!

  1. Our cruise plans to Jerusalem or Italy was canceled though its already possible since MSC cruise started last month and returned with zero cases. But we decided wait…. and that Africa trip is so tempting!

  2. I had plans on visiting Prague, Amsterdam and Paris in April 2020 and New York along with few other places in August 2020 but I had to cancel everything so I totally understand the feeling of looking at photos of the places you could have been!
