Would you believe its Blogmas Day Thirteen already! Where has the time gone!
Today I thought I’d share my favourite Christmas snacks from here in the UK. So whether you’re looking at sending some festive treats abroad, need some last minute stocking fillers or just fancy treating yourself, here’s the post for you!
Almost as controversial as Marmite, I feel like mince pies are a love or hate snack. Personally, I absolute love them! Rich buttery pastry filled with brandy soaked raisins, currants and sultanas – what’s not to love?
Terry’s Chocolate Orange
So I know these are kinda available all year round, but to me it’s only right to have them at Christmas. If you’re feeling super adventurous why not melt a segment into some warm milk for a delicious festive hot chocolate!
Although these zingy, crunchy snacks available all year round, once you whack on some Christmas packaging I feel like anything can be a Christmas snack. Twiglets are only ever eaten at Christmas in my house – they have a little bit of a Marmite taste so I reckon you’ll either love or hate them!
Pigs in Blankets
Do these count as a Christmas snack? I’m not sure. But either way, it wouldn’t be Christmas without the trusty pigs in blankets – Sausages wrapped in yummy bacon! What’s not to love?
Chocolate coins were like the staple Christmas snack when I was a kid. Wrapped in golden foil (or silver if you get white chocolate!) these are the perfect Christmas treat!
A Box of Chocolates
Whether it’s Quality Street, Cadbury Heroes or Roses, Christmas isn’t quite complete without a tub of chocolates. Cadbury Heroes have always been my favourite – filled with so many classic Cadbury chocolates, so whether you’re partial to a Caramel chocolate or a twirl, these are perfect for you!
Once again, these delicious goodies are available all year round – but it’s another one of those things we only ever buy at Christmas. They’re simple, lightly Salted crackers all made from quality ingredients, and are perfect on their own or with your favourite cheese!
At the end of Christmas Day sometimes you just need a savoury, salted snack!
Cheese and Biscuits
From writing this I feel like us Brits really don’t care about calorie counting on Christmas Day – it’s Christmas, who really cares after all. We always make sure we have some cheese and biscuits in the house for the Christmas Season. Whether it be Wensleydale, Cheddar or Stilton it’s the perfect snack!
