An Interview With: Vinn En Route

One of my goals for Undaunted Adventure this year is to interview a variety of fellow travel bloggers, vloggers and podcasters. There are so many amazing people out there who are doing a phenomenal job at what they do, and I thought it would be great to showcase some of my favourites! I’ll be releasing a Q&A each month, and this month Vinn from Vinn En Route took some time to answer some questions all about her blog, travel experiences and tips for future bloggers!

About Vinn En Route

Vinn En Route is a blog, featuring Vinn’s travel stories.  These stories wrap around experiences, history and culture, events, food and some current issues.  Yes, it may seem broad but if you have been following my articles I am still confined in certain areas. I see my blog is evolving in a sense that “travel” may relate to other things aside from destinations.  And yes Vinn is constantly en route….

Souq Waqif, Doha, Qatar

What was your inspiration for starting a travel blog?

I started this blog when I arrived in Cyprus last 2019.  Going around and with a lot of free time, I started to write.  I see myself discovering this beautiful country thus I want to share it to the world!

If you could move to one country, which would it be and why?

This is the second country I moved in after the Middle East.  Well if I will be moving again…maybe Spain.  This has been on my travel list and I was born and raised in the Philippines with 300 years of Spanish colonial influence.  With Spain’s geography having shores, mountains, the villages and the big cities – Barcelona and Madrid, indeed a lifetime of exploration.  And if I could name a second country, its gonna be Greece!

Do you have a favourite memory from your time on the road?

Yes, it is one of our roadtrips from Athens, Greece to northern part of Greece, Volos.  I really didn’t know what to expect as we were coming the islands. (though I did not research and I was just going with the flow). What I found in Volos is the shores of Pelion – Mylopotamos, Beach.

Santorini, Greece

What’s your top travel tip?

Explore and go where the locals are!

City or Countryside?

Countryside.  I am loving the laid back charm.  But a city break is always fantastic!

Would you rather travel everywhere by land, sea or air?

I rarely on a boat, and I haven’t been on a cruise. But surely we have plans. As far as transport it depends on where I am traveling. For land travels, I really enjoy riding trains!

Have you ever found a destination to be overrated?

Some say Santorini, Vienna and Bali are overrated. But for me, they aren’t.  Yes they are top on the list but should not discourage anyone traveling where they say “overrated”. Because if you want to avoid crowds or people traffic, you can always find locations that can be a gem. At the end of the day it is your experience.

Larnaca, Cyprus

Which country has the friendliest people?

I say it is Thailand. And I also worked with Thais.

If cost wasn’t an issue, would you ever travel to space?

Maybe No.  This is another level of discovery and so much unknown, maybe for some other people. As for me if cost isn’t an issue I will be more than happy to visit every corner of this world!

If you could give one piece of advice to someone wanting to start their own blog, what would it be?

First is start writing, don’t be scared. And the rest you will learn and it helps a lot to connect with bloggers.  Since we own the blog, we can always go back to our articles and make it better a hundred times. So first advice, is start writing!

Thank you Vinn for taking part in our Q&A!
