Hopefully this summer we will be able to travel a little further and explore some new destinations! I don’t know about you, but lockdown has made me appreciate my hometown so much more, and made me more excited to explore some of the great towns and cities the UK has to offer. Here are my top five cities you need to visit this summer!
Cardiff is one of those places which always feels like home to me whenever I visit. As Wales’ capital, its a vibrant, bustling city which has so much to offer, and options to suit every budget.
Places to Visit: Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay, Bute Park, St Fagans, Principality Stadium.
Nestled in the heart of West Yorkshire, Leeds is an incredible city. Whether you’re in the mood for some great food, fancy a fun night out or trip to the theatre, or feel like treating yourself to a weekend of shopping – Leeds is the place to be.

I always feel like Glasgow is a relatively underrated city, with many people choosing to visit Edinburgh instead. But there is so much to see in Scotland’s largest city! Glasgow is a city bursting with character and offers some great experiences. All year round you’ll find fantastic attractions, unique neighbourhoods, awe-inspiring architecture, delicious food, and unbeatable nightlife!
Places to Visit: King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Riverside Museum, Glasgow Cathedral, Kelingrove Art Gallery & Museum, City Centre Mural Trail.
Ripon is one of England’s hidden gems – located in North Yorkshire, this little city still manages to pack a punch! As a cathedral city, Ripon is steeped in history and heritage and is home to fascinating historical buildings, long observed traditions and plenty of opportunities to explore the local Yorkshire landscapes.
